Amazon is offering the T-Mobile HTC G2 for $99

By Jay Levi

The brand new, HTC G2 Android smartphone for T-Mobile, has been under scrutiny from some of the serious Droid phone users who like to modify their Android phones because of it’s questionable hackability — the phone hasn’t been rooted — so hackers looking to modify the software of the T-Mobile HTC G2 discovered the cell phone has hardware that detects these modifications and removes them automatically, as a security and safety issue. It is a good phone for people who fear someone hacking into their phone but not for those techie hacker types who like to mod their phones.

Anyway, the T-Mobile G2 is being offered at a awesomely cheap price at Amazon. For new customers signing a T-Mobile two-year contract, they can grab the G2 Android phone for $99 including two-day shipping. The phone normally costs over 400 dollars unlocked. Upgrading customers can expect paying $199 for the G2.

Bottomline the phone is great for those who want a hack proof phone but not those who want to modify their Android.
