Roy Halladay of the Phillies pitches a no-hitter in playoff debut

The popular Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Roy Halladay kicked off his playoff debut on Wednesday Oct. 6 with a no-hitter against the Cincinnati Reds Baseball team beating them with a final score of 4-0.

This was the opening game of the best of 5 MLB National League playoff series between the Phillies and the Reds. The game was at home for the Phillies making this no-hitter extra special for the fans at the stadium.

Halladay’s feat, was the first no-hitter pitched in a Major League Baseball game in the post-season since Yankees pitcher Don Larsen threw a perfect game in the 1956 World Series between the New York Yankees and the Brooklyn Dodgers.
