Over 25 thousand vehicles being recalled by Chrysler

By Jay Levi

Some important news for Chrysler owners, today, Chrysler Group LLC announced that they are recalling some 26,397 automobiles, citing a malfunction with the power steering pressure hose, which could possibly cause the steering fluid to leak over the engine while hot causing a fire.

The Chrysler – Fiat SpA did not immediately comment on the recall, but they said in a letter that it wasn’t aware of any type of injuries or accidents related to the defect, and is issuing a recall for safety precautions.

According to a letter posted on October 18, 2010 on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website the vehicles affected are the 2010 Chrysler Sebring, 2011 Dodge Ram, Chrysler 300, Dodge Journey, Dodge Charger, Dodge Avenger and the Dodge Challenger.

During these type of recalls, owners are advised to report their vehicle if it is on the list because safety is paramount and to take a chance by driving a car that you were previously warned about to be faulty is dangerous.

The maker of the hose is YH America South Carolina LLC.
