Zooey Deschanel Performs “God Bless America” At The Giants vs. Phillies Game

By Lisa Adrian

Actress Zooey Deschanel and her husband Ben Gibbard were special musical performers for the Game three National League Championship MLB series between the San Fransisco Giants and the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday.

The game was held on Oct. 19 at the AT&T Park in San Francisco, California home of the Giants baseball team. The 30-year old actress known for her role in 500 days of summer starring opposite Joseph Gordon-Levitt, seemed a bit overwhelmed in her performance and had a bit of nerves. She sang her own rendition of “God Bless America” during the seventh inning stretch after her husband performed the national anthem before the game started.

The San Francisco Giants won Game 3 over the Philadelphia Phillies with a score of 3-0.

Ben Gibbard is the lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie and Zooey Deschanel is in the indie rock group She & Him.
