Muscle Building Protein Powders May Help Increase Lifespan by 10 Years

By Jay Levi

The protein powder that bodybuilders and athletes take as a post workout nutritional supplement to help their muscles recover from intense workouts and to meet the required Protein intake they need to help build muscle, may now be beneficial for regular people as well.

Italian researchers from Brescia University found that the protein powders sold at health food stores can increase the life expectancy by nearly 12-percent for middle age adults.

In a report by The Daily Mail, the test results came from an animal testing done on mice, which showed an equivalency  of living ten years longer for humans.

Professor Enzo Nisoli from Brescia University said, “I think our data warrants a recommendation that middle-aged people start taking these supplements.”

Nisoli also adds that regular consumption of protein powder with proper diet and exercise benefits both men and women, and those aged 55 years and older can also benefit with drinking one protein shake a day helping prevent diabetes, cardiac and lung problems.

Diets high in protein also help prevent muscle break down from intense training and it can slow the muscle loss from aging.
