Did Floyd Mayweather Ruin His Legacy With His Inactivity?

By Jay Levi

Floyd Mayweather Jr. arguably the most talented boxer today, hasn’t fought much in the last 5 years, and many in the industry believe he is wasting his talents by not being more active in the ring.

Floyd is a wizard in the ring, he can adjust to any style put in front of him and doesn’t run away from danger as proven in the Shane Mosley fight, but he hasn’t fought the guys the boxing community wanted to see him fight like Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, and Manny Pacquiao.

Floyd is more of a business man now than a fighter. He has become one of the biggest draws in boxing after his fight with Oscar De La Hoya.

Manny Pacquiao also became a huge draw after he fought Oscar De La Hoya, they don’t call him the Golden Boy for nothing, anything he touches turns to gold and he turned Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao into certified stars after he lost to them.

In my honest opinion, I would have to put Manny Pacquiao above Floyd Mayweather in terms of competition. Pacquiao fought the guys that Floyd avoided like Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito and beat them up tremendously.

Floyd never gets hurt in his fights so his inactivity is baffling, he could easily make 100 million dollars a year if he fights at least 3 times a year.

Floyd is capable of greatness but how can you become great if you don’t fight more often and prove to others that you truly are the best around by cementing your legacy with bigger fights.
