PlayStation Phone Video Surfaces: Is It Legit?

By Craig Bison

Recently a PlayStation Phone video hits YouTube and shows it running Android and looking like a PSPGo.

The phone has been talked about among gamers and cell phone enthusiasts a like, but the previous images released before were all fake. This time the PSP phone resurfaced in early December 2010, and the prototype model was given the codename “Zeus.” It has a touch screen and it’s made by Sony Ericsson, Sony’s mobile branch.

In the video the phone features Android OS, and is running the Gingerbread version of the Android software. The person playing with the phone just shows the slide controller and shows the Sony PlayStation logo but doesn’t actually play any games on the device leading some people to believe that it’s just a hoax and someone just made their own device with a sliding controller underneath.

Video of the PlayStation Smartphone?

If Sony does come out with a PlayStation Smartphone it will take gaming on the go to the next level and would really boost Sony’s sales. Gamers could play first person shooters online while waiting in line or waiting during a lunch break at work or school. The device will definitely be high end and if they do come out with one and it delivers on performance it would give Sony Ericsson an edge in the mobile gaming market.
