Medicine is supposed to heal us not kill us, but this latest medicine recall is cause for commotion. After consumers of Tylenol 8 hour caplets complained of an odd and musty smell coming from the pills they purchased over the counter, a recall has been put into action.
The Tylenol recall announced Monday Oct. 19, 2010, represents the sixth time in a year that Johnson & Johnson has taken back products due to a mysterious musty or moldy odor coming from the products.
For those of you who purchased Tylenol products recently, don’t panic, the recall is only for a specific brand of Tylenol — Tylenol 8-hour caplets.
Consumers who purchase the Tylenol medicine need to check the back of the packaging for a recalled lot number.
The lot number is No. BCM155 [also had the bar code No. 3 0045-0297-51 8.]
If you have already purchased the item and see the above lot number on it, Johnson & Johnson urges consumers to stop using the recalled product immediately, and should contact the company for a product refund or coupon. The company can be reached at 888-222-6036 or through its website www.tylenol.com.
