Eliot Spitzer’s new show Parker/Spitzer not doing so good

By Wilma Gregory

The new CNN political show “Parker/Spitzer,” hosted by disgraced former New York Govenor Eliot Spitzer and Pulitzer-winning conservative columnist Kathleen Parker failed to impressed audiences with their low ratings.

CNN is going through a makeover, with the firing of Rick Sanchez, Larry King leaving soon and being replaced by Piers Morgan and now adding the scandalous former New York Governor who resigned from his position after The New York Times released an article exposing him as a client to a high priced call girl service and having solicited prostitutes for several years most notably high priced call girl Ashley Alexandra Dupré.

The show “Parker Spitzer” is up against stiff competition from other News/Political shows on rival networks FOX and MSNBC. The ratings on the debut episode of “Parker/Spitzer” averaged only 454,000 viewers. The demographic of ages 25-54 years old is the key demographic many of these political news shows go for and “Parker/Spitzer” only had 118,000 viewers from that group.

The show is still new but after watching it, I left bored, just like many others who gave it dreadful reviews. The ratings for FOX’s “The O’Reilly Factor” are 3.1 million viewers which dwarfs the numbers done by CNN’s “Parker/Spitzer.”
